Comment: I'm looking for charities...

Jason... if they are veterans they can go to the VA Medical Center for help. If they are considered within poverty income they can go to the city or county for aid... Hope this helps some... been there and done that once myself for about 2 years with a broken neck... the care isn't the best but at the time and in my condition... that did not matter and any care was surely a blessing.

Disabled couple desperately needs cash quick ... please help!

Hello all,

We are in desperate need of financial help to save our new home. I am able to refinance, only if I can raise a $12,000 gift to pay off all my existing debt to lower our debt ratio to 38%.  My current mortgage is $2900 a month and the new one will be $1750.

My partner and I have been together for nearly 7 years. Tom is a 100% service connected total and permanently disabled decorated veteran with recurring cancer and other associated illnesses which constitutes him unemployable.  I was a healthy and employed executive whom in 2003 broke my neck and become permanently disabled and unemployable immediately losing my six digit salary we so depended on.

Recently after 4 years of hard work recovering financially, we were taken to the cleaners by a broker on a new home mortgage and can not even afford to make the first payment without refinancing immediately.  We were made many promises, low interest, low PMI, 100% financing… too good to be true.  Exactly!  But we did put our trust in our broker with his promises of don’t worry, we will make it happen (never again).  Finally, still without final numbers it came to the day and time to sign for our new home.  We came to the closing table, moved out of our rental home (which was already rented) and half into our newly purchased home.  Well to our surprise all was not as it had been promised for the prior 2 months which was a payment of less than $2000 a month.  Instead, our interest was 8.6% with a PMI monthly payment of $537 for a total mortgage of $2900 a month.

You are our last hope, as my partner and I are on limited income (which is more than enough to suffice if the new loan is approved) from total and permanent disability with no hope of working to resolve this situation.  At the end of this month we will be homeless with 3 dogs and 2 cats of which we rescued all 5.

So if you can find it in your hearts to contribute to us and our pet family, we can move forward to a Community Program called ACORN to accomplish our goal.  Otherwise… the seven of us will become homeless very soon, probably by month’s end.

Thanking you in advance.

Respectfully submitted,
Victoria
